My 10 best moments of 2011

Yet another year is coming to an end. Time flies very fast nowadays. Although with all the ups and downs faced around the year, 2011 is still a remarkable year for me, wholly. The number of countries I traveled to may be less than the previous year but it still offers me many new and great experiences. I’ve compiled a list of my 10 best moments in 2011. Doing the once in a lifetime skydiving in Queenstown did tops my list in 2010. Here are my 10 best moments of 2011.

10. Entering Dhobi Ghatt, the world’s largest laundry area in central Mumbai and watched how more than 10,000 workers did most of the laundry works manually.

9. Driving myself to Hat Yai from the Malaysian border and had a taste at the Klong Hae floating market.

8. Exploring the 3rd Infiltration tunnel at the border between North & South Korea. The underground tunnel was said to be made by North Korea during the Korean war as a route to deploy their troops into Seoul.

7. Experiencing an Indian train ride from Jaipur to Agra. We traveled in a 2nd class AC coach which only had curtains to separates the sleeper and the walkway.

6. Relaxing while enjoying a beautiful sunset at Kuta beach, Bali after a tiring journey from Java island.

5. Going on a ‘Winter Sonata’ journey in Nami Island. Although it was summer at that time, I still enjoy the trip.

4. Obtaining my open water diver license and enjoying the sandy beaches in Perhentian Island. Now I can go scuba diving freely!

3. Hiking up the Ijen Crater and watch how the sulphur miners works. Sulphur mining is definitely the worst job in the world.

2. Observing a scenic view at Mount Bromo and climbing up to the crater area thus completing a great volcanic journey.

1. Spending the morning at India’s supreme treasure, the Taj Mahal. Some might say that it is just a building but once you are there, you’ll understand why it is listed as one of the world wonders. This precious moment tops my list for 2011.
