I visited Hanoi last January and it was winter at that time. We opted to stay around the Old Quater area in downtown Hanoi and choosed The Little Hanoi Diamond hotel as our lodging place. It was one of the hotel under the Little Hanoi chain.

We touched down in Hanoi in the morning and was picked up by the representatative of the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at about 10.30am. It was still early and the hotel allowed us to check in early plus they even provide us free breakfast for the day although technically we were not entitled to.

Location

Located in the Old Quater area, the hotel is considered to be in the heart of Hanoi. There are a lot of shops around and main attractions such as Hong Kiem Lake, the water puppet show and the Hanoi Cathredal is around 10 minutes walk.

Room

The room was fairly spacious which includes an attached bathroom. It is very clean and the standard beds were comfy enough. Toilets are also clean and was equipped with a hot water shower and bath tub. We did add an extra bed to the room but the extra bed was not really comfortable. It was winter at that time and the hotel doesnt have a heater inside the room so we had to sleep with our jackets on.

Facilities

It’s a budget hotel so there’s no swimming pool or spa here. Hotel guests can use the free wifi service which has a router on each floor, making the connection pretty good. There are also a few computers that can be used by the guests located at the lobby area. The restaurant also serves nice breakfast, which was the only time it is open.

Staffs

The staffs were totally outstanding. Most of them have a very good command of english. They are very friendly to us since the day we checked in, I could say it was the friendliest hotel I have stayed throughout the years. They also helped us in booking the tour to Tam Coc which we manage to get a good price for it.

Overall

I was happy with the hotel overall because of the good service that we received. The location inside the Old Quater area will give u an opportunity to see the streets of Hanoi better. Yes I would recommend this hotel for those who are going to Hanoi.
