A trip to Queenstown is not complete if you don’t take a ride on the Queenstown Skyline, a gondola or cable car ride that would get you up the hill to Bob’s Peak for you to have a great overview of the town and its surroundings. Our morning ride up the hill cost us NZD$38 and took nearly 10 minutes to reach the top. We bought the tickets which includes 2 Luge ride.
the view of Queenstown skyline from our hotel
I saw a bungee platform just before reaching the top of the hill. Bungee was on my list as one of the things to do but not this time as I was focusing on my sky diving at the moment.
Once we’re up on the hill, we head to the observation deck where we were served by a breathtaking impression of Queenstown. It was said to be spectacular at any time and any season. I was amused by the picturesque view of Lake Wakatipu and the mountain ranges. There were cafés and restaurants up there to keep visitors hydrated and fed.
As I was enjoying the view, I saw one girl preparing to jump from the bungee platform. A few minutes later, I could hear her scream as she started to jump.
We took the chairlift ride to the upper level, before racing down the Luge. A luge is a ride which you’re supposed to lie down on it, put your feet forward and steering gear is on the left of the ride which can be operated by hand while lying down.
We did bought the tickets which include two Luge ride and I really enjoyed riding it. There were 2 tracks, one is the beginner and the other is the advanced. Of course I tried both of it.
Although Queenstown skyline is one of the least adventurous activities that you could find in a town full of adrenaline rush activities, I would recommend it to anyone who visits this part of the world.
