Firstly I am not getting paid by Tune Hotels or whoever to write this post. I’m just sharing out my personal review of the hotel. Recently I was in Hat Yai for a one night stop before proceeding further of my quest touring around southern Thailand. This was not my first trip to Hat Yai. I’ve been there more than an average Malaysian did since it only takes less than 2 hour drive from my hometown Alor Star.
Location
Tune Hotels Hat Yai is situated in the heart of Hat Yai city. For those whom had been in Hat Yai years before, the hotel is located in the building formerly known as New World Hotel in Niphat Uthit 2 road. It’s just a about 10 minutes walk to the popular Lee Gardens area and also the Kim Yong market. For those who don’t want to walk, one could take the ‘tuk-tuk’ to the shopping areas for 10baht to 20baht. A few halal food restaurants are available within walking distance of the hotel area making it convenient for Muslims.
Room
I booked a twin bed room at a promotion price of 499thb which surprisingly turns out to be huge and spacious. I found it to be very nice with some simple decorations. The beds happen to be comfortable but there is no wardrobe. Just remember, if u book a basic room, there’s no air condition!. Air conditioned, Cable TV, towels and wifi connections comes at extra charges.
Facilities
If you’re driving, they provide free car parks for guest. At the lobby area, one could use the free internet service. However the lifts happen to be small and slow. You might have some problems if u came with huge luggage.
Staffs
Staffs are friendly and helpful. Although some of them still have some problems in communicating in English, they did try their best to help in translating the Thai words for me. Since that most visitors are from northern Malaysia, they might want to hire some staffs that speak Malay. I saw one elderly really having a hard time in communicating with the staffs. There are many travel agents and restaurants around Hat Yai that have Malay spoken Thai staffs, although it’s in a different dialect but this pretty much ease them in communicating with the customers.
Overall
My verdict would be 4/5. I would say it’s worth it for me as the room I got was at a promotional price and with the good location and spacious room, yes I would love to stay there again.

Dah pun booking Tune Hotel Hat Yai ni untuk trip tahun ini. Wah memang nampak besar biliknya berbanding Tune Hotel lainnya…
mmg besar bilik dia.. sgt puas hati..
wahhh! this must be the biggest Tune Hotel room ever! hahaha seriously it looks spacious from the photo.
Have always wanted to explore Hatyai but a bit scared. Need to do more research as i’m sure it is safe 🙂
yes it’s spacious. The former owner of the building is New World Hotel so I guess they didn’t adjust the room size from the previous layout. If u ask me, Hat Yai is generally safe. Just take normal precaution measures as u always did in other places 🙂
fantastic room!
Bole la melawat Hat Yai plak lepas ni Hasan
salam.. nak tanya, Hat Yai selamat x skrg? any issue about bombing x?
insyaAllah selamat.. sy tiap taun ke sana.. kalau x silap bombing tu skali tu jer taun 2006, lepas tu dh xda..
Interesting! At least I have one place in my list to stay if I go to Bangkok.
How much is 499baht in RM anyway? I converted online and it’s about RM50, isn’t it? Very suitable for backpacker.
The room seems comfortable, though. Since I’m still student, I plan to go there backpacking and I really consider this hotel.
Anyway, thanks for the review. Very informative!
🙂
yup RM50.. that’s the promotion rate I got the other day.. need to check the current rate.. sometimes could get up till RM100++.. anyway u mentioned Bangkok, it’s in Hat Yai actually.. I think they also have one in Pattaya.. not sure about Bangkok
