Last weekend I got the opportunity to participate in the #TSDayOut event to Kuala Selangor organized by Tourism Selangor. For those who don’t know, #TSDayOut is a hashtag for a monthly outing held by Tourism Selangor to bring bloggers, social media friends and media to visit places around Selangor. The objective was to expose participants to various tourism spots inside Selangor at the same time promote the state tourism.
Below are 5 cool things that we did during the outing
Clean up the mangrove area. At Kuala Selangor Nature Park, we were given explanation about the park plus the mangrove area. After the short briefing, participants put on their rubber boots and proceeded into the mangrove area to clean up the area. A total of 116kg of rubbish managed to be collected from the mangrove area. That was some achievement.

A tram ride at Bukit Malawati. A tram picked us up at the nature park and brought us up to the Malawati Hill beside the park. There’s a lighthouse up there and visitors are able to enjoy the aerial view of the town from there. A lot of monkeys were seen up but visitors are not encourage to feed them. The tram also brought us to the Fresh Water Fish Park where various types of fresh water fish that is found in rivers throughout Selangor are being displayed. There’s also one unique ‘Toman’ fish that bears the name of Allah in Arabic being put on show.

Try out pottery making. We were then brought to V.N Ramadas pottery factory where we were given explanations and briefing about pottery. The owner, Mr. Ramadas was very friendly to let all the participants try their pottery making skills.
Delicious Seafood dinner. In the evening we head to Pasir Penambang to buy some seafood products and had our dinner there. We were served mouth watering crabs, fish and squids while viewing the fine-looking sunset. Thank you Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor for the dinner.
Watch the beautiful fireflies. We were brought to the Firefly Park in Kampung Kuantan after dinner and we were given a short speech by Haji Azahari, Secretary for Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor and also Y.B Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Member of Parliament for Kuala Selangor. I was lucky to be one of the winners for #TSDayOut best photo competition and received the prize form Y.B Dzulkefly himself. Participants then continued to put on their life jacket and jump in the boat before being paddled through the river for a great experience with the fireflies. I didn’t manage to capture any photo of the fireflies but you could still see it in the video.
Generally the trip was an enjoyable trip and I had a wonderful experience trying out pottery making. Below are some photos and footage that I’ve compiled into a video slideshow. Hope u enjoy the video.
