After Nami island, I took a cab ride to the train station. As I arrived at Gapyeong train station to catch a train back to Seoul, I noticed there’s one bus waiting nearby the station and it was bearing the sign Petite France. I asked the girl at the information counter there and she mentioned that the place is a French village and all the buildings were built with French architecture and it is only 30 minutes away. As it was still early, we decided to hop on the bus and planned to catch the last train at the next station which is Cheongpeong.
The bus actually has a tourist guide explaining about the surrounding areas but the problem is, he’s only explaining it in Korean. After the half an hour ride around the mountainous area, we finally arrived at Petite France, the French village set at a Korean countryside. At first sight, it pretty much reminds me of Berjaya Hills in Malaysia where they have the same concept of doing a French-themed village.
As we enter the village, I realized that we were the only foreigners there. Maybe because the location is quite remote and the place is less promoted. Here one could immerse itself in the French countryside as its gorgeous architectures and furnishing brings you back to times of French romantic eras. Lots of beautiful flowers can be found in the village area.

For me Petit France would be an ideal setting for inspiration and renewal. The combination of French-themed building with the highlands area pretty much amuses me. We did spent an hour touring around the area before taking the next bus to Cheongpeong.
